Yours Clothing sizing — does it run small?

Short answer: Yours Clothing is generously cut, but "your size" is not a fixed thing. We read Yours' own published size chart in centimetres and compared it with Roman and Dorothy Perkins. At UK 16, the same labelled size is up to 10 cm different on the waist depending on which shop you order from.

The quick answer

  • At UK 16, Yours publishes a 102 cm bust and 87 cm waist.
  • Roman publishes 107.5 cm bust and 97 cm waist for the same UK 16 — a 10 cm wider waist.
  • So an item labelled "16" is not the same shape in both shops. Yours runs closer to the body; Roman is cut roomier.
  • Both are "correct" — they just measure differently. Always use the numbers, not the label.

How a UK 16 compares across shops

This is where it gets useful — and where most sizing advice gets it wrong. The label "16" hides a 10 cm difference on the waist between these three retailers.

Yours Clothing10287111
Dorothy Perkins10587113
Roman107.597114

What this means practically: if your waist measures 88 cm, you are a comfortable UK 16 at Yours and Dorothy Perkins — but at Roman that same waist sits closer to a UK 14. Order the "same size" from both and one will be wrong for you.

Does Yours Clothing run small or large?

Compared with the other two, Yours runs truest-to-body and slightly smaller on the bust. Its UK 16 bust (102 cm) is 5.5 cm under Roman's (107.5 cm). At the waist, Yours and Dorothy Perkins agree exactly (87 cm) — but both are 10 cm under Roman.

Yours is also the only one of the three publishing sizes up to UK 32 here, which makes it a strong choice at the top of the range — just measure your bust first, because that is where it differs most.

How to use this when you order from Yours

  1. Measure your bust, waist and hips — do not go by a size you wore elsewhere.
  2. Match against the numbers above. Find the size whose measurements are closest.
  3. If you are between two sizes at Yours, the label follows your waist most closely in everyday clothing; go up if in doubt on fitted tops, down on loose styles.
  4. Check the specific item's chart too. Retailers state that cuts vary within their own range.

Where this data comes from

Every figure is read directly from each retailer's own published size guide, in centimetres. Only retailers whose charts we could read appear here. Where a shop blocks access, we do not guess. This page was last checked on 9 October 2026.
